What began as a focused mission to serve the police and security markets has grown into a full-scale uniform operation serving professionals across the United States. Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Irvington, New Jersey — just a few miles from Newark Liberty International Airport and 15 miles outside New York City — UniPro International Uniforms was built on a simple premise: professionals deserve uniforms made to perform.
Roots in Law Enforcement and Security
From day one, the focus was on career apparel for the men and women who keep communities safe. Early on, the company secured significant government contracts with agencies like the NYPD, the NYC Housing Authority, and multiple departments within the City of Newark. These weren't small accounts — they were high-demand programs requiring consistent quality, precise sizing, and fast turnaround at scale.
Building Out the Infrastructure
Growth required investment in logistics. Today, UniPro operates over 300,000 square feet of warehouse and distribution space across facilities in Hillside, NJ, Irvington, NJ, and Reno, Nevada. The East Coast operation keeps the company tightly connected to the dense public safety market of the Northeast, while the Nevada facility enables efficient coverage of the Midwest and West Coast. Manufacturing partnerships in Mexico and China allow the team to maintain competitive pricing without sacrificing quality control.
Expanding the Product Line
Over the years the catalog expanded well beyond its police and security origins. Today the product range covers EMS and EMT apparel, fire-resistant garments, aviation and airline crew uniforms, medical and nursing scrubs, corrections, crossing guard, and parking personnel uniforms — along with tactical gear, accessories, and corporate apparel programs. An in-house embroidery department handles patches, custom logos, and alterations, making full uniform program management possible under one roof.
Serving the Professionals
The company's tagline — Uniforms for the Professionals — isn't just marketing. With a 24–48 hour order turnaround, a just-in-time inventory model, and an online management platform that handles ordering, budget tracking, and account administration, UniPro has built the operational backbone to service everything from a small private security firm to a city-wide contract with thousands of employees.
More than 15 years after its founding, the mission remains the same: outfit the people who show up every day in service of others, and make sure they look the part.
